CW Chief: Powerpuff Pilot Came In 'Excessively Silly,' Will Return to Planning phase

The CW's true to life update of the Powerpuff Young ladies establishment is making a beeline for the planning phase to turn into somewhat more, indeed, genuine.

As given an account of Monday, the buzzy pilot didn't take care of business for The CW's 2021-22 record, yet is being revamped for later thought — with all cast scholars actually appended.

Once in a while things miss, and this was only a miss," CW Executive and President Imprint Pedowitz told TVLine during a Tuesday telephone call. "We have confidence in the cast totally, we put stock in Diablo [Cody] and Heather [Regnier], the essayists, and we trust in the sponsorship of [executive producer] Greg Berlanti and Warner [Bros.] Studios. For this situation, the pilot didn't work. But since we see sufficient components in there, we will offer it one more opportunity. We would not like to go ahead with what we had."

Powerpuff stars Specialists of S.H.I.E.L.D's. Chloe Bennet, Relatives' Pigeon Cameron, Broadway vet Yana Perrault and Cleans' Donald Faison as, separately, Bloom, Air pockets, Buttercup and Educator Utonium.

Asked by TVLine how precisely the primary break at a pilot missed the mark, Pedowitz said, "Apparently, it may have felt excessively batty. It didn't feel as established in all actuality as it would have. However, once more, you learn things when you test things out. Also, for this situation, we felt like, 'How about we return a stage and return to the planning phase.'"

As the organization supervisor noticed, "This is an incredible property, it has connected a great deal of interest, and we need to get it just before we put it out."
